I chose this image because it was caught my eye as well as it has a lot of elements that I like to incorporate in my photos. I like the lights and the darks throughout the photo. I like how the picture was taken a certain way that it puts you in the scene with the kids almost like you're with them. Overall, it has the power to cause you to look at it for hours.
The composition is really good. There are leading lines everywhere and your eyes go up, down and sideways. There are the leading lines from the shadows leading from the front of the image to the back and the dark focal point is where your eye ends. The multiple depths of the image adds to the composition. The sharp contrast of the shadows and lights is amazing and in black and white it is even better. There is also a contrast from the smooth ground compared to the rough walls. I like the pattern that is created with the different walls/streets. It is almost like a zig zag to the back with dark to light to dark to light. Lastly a big part of this composition is how the street leading back isn't centered. The asymmetry adds so much to this photo.
