P1: Part 2 Top 5

  1. Hey Garrett,

    I see there's a theme here!
Your first and second photos are very similar so I'll group them together- I like the angle that they were shot at and the lines that the wood creates contrasting with the sky. I'm a big fan of using the sky as a background especially when its a clear blue sky. The light is coming in at a perfect angle for this shot and that's what really makes the photo stand out is the golden parts of the wood contrasting against the dark. also good job using the rule of thirds in these shots.
third photo- This is really cool. I like the depth that was created shooting along the face of the wood. what really makes it stand out is the lines of light seeping in through the cracks in the wooden floorboards (or ceiling? I cant tell, which kind of adds to the mystery of the photo). cool photo.
fourth- again good job using rule of thirds, the focal point at the bottom left of the photo with the other wooden supports branching off of it makes very a very cool photo effect. also kinda cool how one side is dark and one side is light.
fifth- love the concrete and the leading line at the right of the photo. maybe a bit too far to the right as the concrete after that just doesn't really look like its doing much for the photo, but thats pretty subjective. I like the light on one side of the wood post and the dark shadow on the other. the stains on the ground just add to it. fits the abstract vibe very well.
Overall I don't really have any critiques, just comments. these are all good photos in my opinion, so just keep doing what you're doing and refining those skills.
